Fashion Icon of The month

Our "Fashion Icon" of the Month is Nina. Colours are the inspiration for her fashion. She uses contrasting colors in her fashion, by doing this it make her style become a "Fashion Trademark" (see develop a Fashion Trademark). Her style is very eclectic. Having an eclectic style means, you don't have to have the same style everyday, it varies. Nina is truly a "Fashion Icon". Being a "Fashion Icon" means you have to be original, full of new ideas, and inspired by everything around you. Nina really shows that in her style. If you like her style don't copy it incorporate it into your own outfit, and you could become the next "Fashion Icon" Designed by Nina

Spring Fashion Opinion

Spring is finally here! Everyone knows what that means,SHOPPING! With this in mind, let me give you my input on what this seasons trends should be. I think we should start to embrace pastel colored cotten dresses. I have always liked dresses and spring is the best time to wear them. For the accessories, I think pearl necklaces would be very cute with those dresses. Then we get to shoes, you should try kitten heels, cute pair of sandals, or ballet flats. You should also try a lightly coloured cropped sweater. I know a little old fashioned, but when you embrace new style you never know what will happen!

Winter Fashions Flashback

This long cold winter has been, well, long and cold. However, it has been a very fashionable winter. The colours this winter were black, white, and red. When you put them together you could proudly call yourself a true fashionista. The scarves were western scarves; that were paired with tees and tunics. The tops were graphic tees, tunics, and plaid shirts. The hats consited of fedoras, newsboy caps, and chunky berets. My personal faves were the berets. Gloves were long and colourful. Shoes styles were ankle boots, fashion heels, converse, ugg boots, and skater shoes. The must have of this winter were black vests. As you can see, the main style of this winter was a punk rock star look. The decade the clothes were inspired by was the 80's. Overall the winter fashion of "09" was truly a fashion year to remeber. -jEnNiFeR

How to Wear a Necklace or Scarf

I don't know about you , but necklaces and scarves are extremely important when it comes to my wardrobe. Necklaces and scarves can make a dull outfit stand out. How, well, you're about to find out. If you are looking to make a dull outfit shine you must look for colour, shape, size, and originality in a necklace or scarf . Let's say you have a plain purple t-shirt, if you pair that shirt with a chunky yellow neon necklace or yellow scarf , it will look extremely cute. There are so many things you can make very fashionable just by adding a necklace or scarf. Below is a set from my t-shirt example and a set with some really really cute necklaces!

80's Takeover

It appears for the last couple of years the 80's have been making a come back. We've seen bright colours such as purple, orange, lime green, and yellow all incorporated in to outfits. Then there has been leggins, which started out as blacks and browns and turned into being able to find any pattern, colour, or length for your outfit. Let's see we have my personal fave, skinny jeans, being pared with converse, ankle boots, fashion heels, and anything else girls can get there hands on. There has also been fringe scarves and lots and lots of hats, hats, and more hats. Let's face it the 80's are making their come back and it's going to keep getting bigger, so prepare to embrace the 80's.

All over the world jeans are a key essential to everyones wadrobe. Jeans can be dressed up or dressed down. The key to making jeans a fashion statement is in the choosing of your shoes. There are so many shoes out there, and jeans go with anything. However, if you are striving for a certain look your shoes make all the difference. If you are striving for the rock star look you should pair skinny jeans with ankleboots. You can see this combonation in my January blog "Style Clip". If you want more of a punk rock everyday look try pairing mark eco sneakers with skinny jeans. You can see this combonation in my January blog "Style Clip 2". The shoes you choose are all up to you, so if you want to be " A Fashion Icon" choose the shoes and jeans that you think are the best and all you!

Develop a Fashion Trademark

In order to become a "Fashion Icon" you must develop what is called a fashion trademark. What is a trademark? You might ask. A trademark defines and distinguishes your style. You might pair a scarf, a brooch, a whimsical necklace, a fashionable hat, or etc. Whatever you pair with all your outfits will state your style and fashion sense. You should always be original when choosing your trademark. If you copy someone else's trademark, then you will not "Be Your Own Fashion Icon". A trademark defines you and you alone. Since there are so many people out there, more then one person is obviously going to choose a hat. Having a trademark is more then just choosing to wear a hat with every outfit. Having a trademark means choosing a certain hat that has a certain well trademark, such as a flower pin, a button, stripes, polka-dots, or etc. Remember a trademark has a trademark within its self.

Happy Trademarking,
